Float Decorating

Hello Everyone!!! The Parade of Lights is quickly approaching and it is time to get serious about our float. We will be meeting this Saturday, November 28th at 10:00, at the "old" Whitewater gravel pit in Whitewater. If you don't know where that is, take Hwy 50 to Whitewater, then head south on Hwy 141, go across the railroad tracks and Gunnison River, take the first right. Please bring a sack lunch and any supplies you think we might need.

Whitewater Building Materials has donated a huge flat bed for us, and the theme this year is "Toyland". So we will be making it look like a Main Street with street lights, railings, and turning our boys into toys. So we hope to make things like blocks, lego's, yo-yos, army men, etc. So any ideas to help along this line would be greatly appreciated.

Hope to see everyone there on Saturday, and if you have any questions, please give your den leader a call.

The flag retirement activity is Saturday, Nov 14th, at 3:00. We will meet at Dederick's house (169 Whiting Rd), and head down to a fire circle on Kannah Creek. Ask friends and family if they have any flags that need to be retired and bring them along.

Directions to my house are south on Hwy 50, travel 7 miles past Whitewater. Turn left on to Kannah Creek Rd, and go 2.5 miles. Turn right onto Whiting Rd, we are the third house on the right, grey log home with a blue metal roof.

After we retire the flags we will drink some hot chocolate and eat cookies!!!

Current Events

We have the the Veteran's Day Parade on Saturday November 7th, we need the scouts to wear thier uniforms and meet at 8th & Main St. between 1:00 and 1:30.

We also have a flag retirement ceremony activity on November 14th, this will be out at Dederick's house 169 Whiting Rd, up Kannah Creek. The time is 3:00. We will go over how to properly dispose of a worn out American flag. Directions to here are to take Hwy 50 south (heading to Delta). Go approximately 7 miles past Whitewater, turn left onto Kannah Creek Rd. Continue up Kannah Creek Rd 2.5 miles to Whiting Rd on the right. Dederick's is the third house on the right.

Once again Whitewater Building Materials have offered to let us use their shop and a truck for our Parade Of Lights float. It is so nice to have a warm, dry spot to work on our float. The theme this year is Toy Land. So we would like all the boys to dress up as toys, such as Lego's, blocks, yo-yo's, Jack-in-the Box, etc. All the parents and siblings that will be walking with the truck can dress as elves, reindeer, etc. So if please start thinking of costume ideas for the scouts.
